Lola Liquorice began as a small hopeful idea over five years ago. At the time, starting something from scratch felt overwhelming, so i put it aside and explored other directions. Clothing, gym wear. I tried different concepts, but none of them felt right.

Five years later, While on holiday with my boys, we spoke about being brave enough to step outside what feels familiar. That conversation shifted something for me. It felt like the right moment to begin. After years in the corporate world, I was ready to create something of my own.

The idea of Lola Liquorice never truly disappeared. A friend encouraged me to speak with her husband, a talented graphic designer, and together we shaped the first pieces of the brand. Through him I met an exceptional leather craftsman, and suddenly the path forward was clear.

From that collaboration the Jean Maxi Tote our first design, created with intention and care. It's names after my grandmother Jean Simpson. A simple, quiet tribute to someone important in my life, and the beginning of a dream I finally chose to pursue.
